No Licence? Don't Drive!

You might feel confident and experienced enough to nip out for a spin in the car before you've got a licence. You might even have had the chance to drive on privately-owned land.

However you might cause yourself problems when you do apply for your driving licence.

The penalty

The penalties if you drive under age and/or without a licence are the same as driving when disqualified. The penalty is up to a £1,000 fine and 3-6 points on your licence.

The consequences

If you're under age or don't have a licence, a record is created at DVLA with these endorsement points noted so that if and when you apply for a licence the endorsements will be recorded on your licence. The points are applied at the time of conviction whether or not you have a licence.
