NEW DRIVERS ACT

As a new driver, you're more at risk of having an accident in the first year or so after passing your test than at any other time.

FACT: 1 in 5 new drivers will have an accident in the first year alone.
The New Drivers Act aims to reduce the number of road deaths and injuries by giving penalty points to new drivers who increase their risk of having an accident by committing offences such as speeding.

What is the New Drivers Act?
Well, it's similar to being 'on probation' for two years from the time you pass your driving test. If you get a total of six or more penalty points during this time, it means that you'll have to go back to being a learner, and will have to apply for a provisional licence and take the test again.

So don't go on the 'Road to L'. Drive safely.
