Pass Plus

Pass Plus is a course of 6 further training sessions which you can take in the first year after passing your driving test.

Pass Plus gives you valuable extra driving experience. A qualified instructor takes you driving in and out of town, in all weathers, at night, on dual carriageways and on motorways.

Some motor insurance companies support Pass Plus and may offer a discount if you successfully complete this additional training and subsequently insure your own vehicle with them. You may even be able to defer the discount for up to 2 years after passing the course.  Ask your insurance company for details.

If you buy a car within two years of completing Pass Plus and haven't had any claims since passing, your first premium will be reduced by the extra one-year's no claim bonus.

Hot Tip:

Driving Instructors may offer Pass Plus at a reduced rate if you took your driving lessons with them. A small number of local authorities in Scotland also offer some financial help towards the costs.
